SPG Therapy & Education is currently hiring Behavior Interventionists (BIs) for school-based positions for the 2026-2027 school year!

SPG was founded in 1989 by a Speech Language Pathologist seeking to improve the way students receive clinical support at school. What started as a group focused on speech therapy, has grown to include multiple disciplines, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)! As a multidisciplinary team our mission is to “empower remarkable change together.”

Salary: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience and education. Regular salary reviews and increases available

Responsibilities:

Implement Behavior Intervention Plans
Work with students using ABA to manage behaviors of concern and increase skill acquisition
Collect data
Support teachers and staff with implementing student specific or classroom wide positive behavior interventions

Requirements:

Minimum 6 months Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) experience and/or school based student support experience

Reliable transportation to school sites is a critical requirement in order to effectively carry out the responsibilities of this position. As such, a valid driverâs license and proof of auto insurance may be required, particularly in situations where alternate modes of transportation are unavailable.
Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus but not a requirement
Preferred - Associateâs Degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Speech-Language pathology, or related field

What We're Looking For:

Valid Texas School Psychologist License
Ability to work in person
Proficiency in connecting with students and families, working alongside school teams
Eagerness to learn, grow, and continuously develop their professional expertise

What Youâll Be Doing:

Conduct psychoeducational assessments for referred students in accordance with Texas Department of Education and Federal guidelines.
Prepare comprehensive, legally defensible written reports of assessment findings with diagnoses and specific recommendations, in accordance with State and Federal guidelines.
Certify pupilsâ eligibility for placement in special education services, programs or classes in accordance with their individual physical, mental and emotional needs.
Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, following due process timelines.
Provide counseling services to students, as needed.
Provide consultative support to administrators, parents, students, school-based personnel and SPG staff on matters pertaining to special education procedures and guidelines, mental health issues, child development, student behavior, learning problems and relevant intervention strategies and recommendations.

Job Responsibilities:

Representing SPGâs core values and executing the delivery of the highest quality of services
Supervise SLPA candidates by adhering to state and federal (ASHA) guidelines about direct and indirect supervision requirements.
Review student records, monitor, and evaluate the treatment decisions of the assistant
Evaluate and oversee the ability of the assistant to provide therapy services at the assigned site(s)
Develop appropriate IEP goals and attend IEP meetings for students on SLPAâs caseload
Write progress notes that align with data collection from the SLPA and direct observations/interactions with the student
Guide the development of a plan for the assistant to complete twelve (12) hours of continuing professional development every two years

Requirements

Masterâs degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Current CA SLP license
5 years post-CF experience
ASHA certificate of competence recommended
Completion of the initial 6 hours of supervision professional development training
Fingerprint background clearance
Tuberculosis (TB) clearance

What Youâll Be Doing:

Conduct psychoeducational assessments for referred students in accordance with New Mexico Department of Education and Federal guidelines.
Prepare comprehensive, legally defensible written reports of assessment findings with diagnoses and specific recommendations, in accordance with State and Federal guidelines.
Certify pupilsâ eligibility for placement in special education services, programs or classes in accordance with their individual physical, mental and emotional needs.
Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, following due process timelines.
Provide counseling services to students, as needed.
Provide consultative support to administrators, parents, students, school-based personnel and SPG staff on matters pertaining to special education procedures and guidelines, mental health issues, child development, student behavior, learning problems and relevant intervention strategies and recommendations.
